Ups and downs

Hope everyone enjoyed the last 4 days of the Thanksgiving week, and you have recovered from family get-togethers, Black Friday shopping craziness, and the "food coma" situation.

Our long weekend turned out to be full of Thumb's Ups and Thumb's down. Sigh! Check out the list below.

Thumb's Up----

-the baby is officially seated "front-facing" while in the car.

-the annual Thanksgiving luncheon with the Mercados was "all-home-made-&-deliciously" prepared. MIL's turkey and stuffing, SIL's mashed potatoes, BIL's cranberry sauce, leche flan and his yummy cocktail drink, and yours truly brought Mac & Cheese on the table. Of course, the pumpkin pie also made an appearance.

-I received the Sassafras scrappy goodness from SIL.

- first simple planned Holiday project (holiday blocks) are done and displayed. Yay! December Daily album back in the grind, hoping to commit on it.

-Trip to Target at 8:30am on Black Friday was a no-sweat experience. Out by 9:15 with a tall caramel machiatto.

-hot old-fashioned apple crisp with vanilla ice cream came out to be the top choice of dessert in the house. Wink!

-Drove to Napa Valley and spent 1 night there. We thought about cancelling it ( coz of H's colds&cough) last minute, however DH insisted as he wanted to relax and enjoy the weekend.

-According to DH, spa massage was indeed relaxing.

-now caught up with the loads of laundry.

-the tree is up and well decorated. No glass balls this year, just stuff dolls and nutcrackers.

-holidays music now playing in the house >> pretty good like a lullaby, too!

-wrapped presents and tried to scratch some names on the list. Looking good.

-DVR machine is getting cleared up.

Thumb's Down----

- the bubba has been sick with nasty colds and eeekky cough since Tuesday. Despite this, she is still playful and enjoyed her Uncles and Auntie. Ran around the four corners of the hotel room, too.

- with her being sick, of course I forgot to organize a family picture. Ended up in and out of the room with her.

- after we checked in and got settled at the hotel in Napa, we forgot to buy milk for her so DH left to pick up at Target (which is 2 miles away from the hotel) but only the find out our truck won't start anymore.

-yepp, car problem...gheezz. Of all days. Called Triple A for help and assistance. Got a clear diagnostics from the nearest Auto Repair Shop early am Saturday that we could still drive home safe, packed and was home by 3.

- she lost her appetite and was throwing up all her food intake. Sucks! Imagine, I called Housekeeping twice to ask for more handtowels and new sheets. That's how bad Fridat evening was.

-cancelled lunch plans at Pizzeria Tra Vigne, wine pick-up at Rutherford Ranch, and our date with cousin T at Global Winter Wonderland.

At least, the "Ups" won and over-ruled the list.

Nevertheless, we are thankful of the long weekends like this. Thankful with all the blessings we have been receiving all through the year. Awesome family and friends, a sustaining job, roof over our head, good health, contentment and peace in our hearts. Nothing else we need.

Anyway, we are still working on finishing up the turkey & sides left-overs. As I'm writing this, I'm actually sipping turkey noodle soup with zucchini and green beans. DH & I are almost in the verge of giving up on those stuffings, you know? Hehe! And since we only stayed home to give the sick baby lots of rest, I'm letting the crock pot get heated up with Pulled BBQ Pork for a couple of hours.

You have a good week ahead. Taking her in to see the Doctor for a good check why her nasty cough virus won't go away.

XOXO.
